“The Road To The Final Four” Comes To Anaheim For Fifth Time
The NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Selection Committee today selected the Big West Conference and Honda Center in Anaheim as hosts of the 2011 NCAA Men’s Basketball West Regional.
“We’re thrilled to once again team with the Big West and NCAA for another prestigious event at Honda Center,” said venue President/Chief Executive Officer Tim Ryan. “Having served as a host site on four previous occasions, we know the excitement and drama that unfolds with each game of the NCAA tournament and look forward to its return to Anaheim!”
It is the fifth time since 1998 that the Big West and Honda Center have teamed up to host “March Madness” and “The Road To The Final Four.” The two partners hosted men’s basketball regionals in 1998, 2001 and 2003. In 2008, the NCAA awarded first and second round tournament action to Anaheim.
“We are thrilled to bring the excitement of NCAA postseason college basketball back to Orange County and Anaheim,” said Big West Commissioner Dennis Farrell. “Honda Center is one of the premier facilities in the nation to host such a prestigious event, and we are honored to have the opportunity to once again put on a first class show for the college basketball fans of Southern California.”
The NCAA West Regional, featuring four teams and three games, will be played on Thursday, Mar. 24 and Saturday, Mar. 26, 2011. The winner will advance to the Final Four at Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas.
Ticket information will be released at a later date.
