Honda Center is partnering with ABC7 and the American Red Cross on Wednesday, November 13th to raise funds for the victims of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines. The one-day drive will raise money for much needed essentials including food, shelter and clothing for the thousands of individuals and families displaced by the disaster.
“The catastrophic destruction that Typhoon Haiyan has caused is simply unimaginable,” said Arnold J. Kleiner, President and General Manager of KABC-TV. “We encourage our viewers to join us in providing support, hope and desperately needed care to our friends and family in the Philippines.”
The drive begins Wednesday morning at 4:30AM and continues until 6:30PM. Personalities from ABC7 Eyewitness News will be at the collection locations, which also includes the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. Donations can be dropped throughout the day. Cash, checks and credit cards will be accepted.
Checks should be made payable to the American Red Cross, with Philippines Typhoon and Flood Relief on the memo line.
All who donate starting at 6 a.m. will receive a pair of tickets to Championship Sunday of the Wooden Legacy college basketball tournament, played at Honda Center on December 1.
In addition to the one-day drive, donations can be mailed to the following address:
ABC7 Philippines Typhoon and Flood Relief
P.O. Box 5967
Glendale, CA 91221
These will be passed on directly to the American Red Cross to further their relief efforts.
